Was up there a few weeks ago. The trail is passable, but they locked the gate at the Pacific Crest trail staging area, so we had to turn around and head back.

I'm always up for a snow run, I love 'em. We kind of got sacked on the snow on the Christmas Tree run.

It was enough snow for me, I have zero experience with snow offroad. I've live in Reno for twenty years. I commuted to Tahoe for two winters and Carson City for many years so I've done some driving in snow on pavement. But Last weekend was probably the third or fourth time I've ever gotten off the pavement in any amount of snow.

I say it's high time I learn what it's all about. ;)

lets hit up Mormon emigrant trial AKA (iron mountain) is another name from what i'm finding out I think......:o

I'm trying to find out more info about this trail and location right now.

I'll forsure go if theres a few cruisers too on the presidents day weekend.

It's location is in south lake tahoe I guess off of 88 if that sounds correct.

If someones do this before or knows the area better please spill the beans on info :D

actually the trail (mormon emigrant road or iron mountain road from hwy 88 side) starts at jenkinson lake in pollock pines. it is just east of placerville. the gate on the hwy 88 side is locked. not much snow now, but is is snowing as we speak. i live about a mile from there. it is basicly an unplowed road that is the wintertime playground fopr all sorts. i'd be in for presedents day.

That would be cool to have like 60 cruisers or so on some trail :grinpimp: .......-Joe

We do several snow runs a year in Colorado.

What's the record for Rising Sun? About 35 trucks on Yankee Hill? I'm wondering if we'll beat that at this year's Snow and Pizza Run.

The great thing about snow runs is that you can be on a 2wd road add snow and the difficulty can go through the roof. Plus it's more about wheelspeed so it's a good way to have a little fun. I've been on some snow runs that stupid crawl ratios are the only thing that works. Plus the conditions can change from morning to afternoon.

Maybe after Christmas, we can do a little run up to Verdi Peak. One of my favorite runs.

Wheel speed was what was killing me on the last hill we went up. I think I may have over done it the second time. But it was fun!:bounce:

I think I just need to get out and spend time trying different speeds and gears. I'm sure we would be up for a Verdi Peak run.

I would probably be down for a snow run, especially if we did it over presidents day. that would give me some time to be able to get home afterwards.

You night also check the defroster vent hoses, mine are cracked and held in place with duct tape and a prayer. They tend to come loose after a few miles of wash board road.

I'm just waiting to get big enough list stuff I need to justify shipping charges and I'll get a new set from CDan.

So as of right now it's looking like my cruiser is comming home this weekend. :grinpimp: :bounce: :bounce2: :bounce: :bounce2:

Finally.

Are people still up for this trip?

1 day run or what?

I was hoping to camp out on the trail for a night then head home.

TTT!!!!!
