So when I purchased my 62 it had a snorkel already installed and frankly I'm kinda getting sick of looking at it.
My question is has anyone ever removed a snorkel and what you did with the hole?
I'm thinking new fender but would probably never get the paint to match. Another idea I had was making some type of cover from steel or the same material as the snorkel and bolting it up to the mounting holes.
Safari Snorkel should really make a block off plate or something.

thanks

nice looking truck as it sits...doubtful a good solution exists to remove the snorkel once installed, other than fender replacement.

wheels

Nice looking truck. Can't help you on the snorkel. I'm looking for wheels and tires. What brand of wheels do you have? What size? Back space? Lift? Thanks

Thanks Guys. the wheels are American Eagle 100 series 16x8 with 3.625 bs. lift is OME . Might be looking to sell the wheels and tires soon and go back to stocks with 33's. Miss the retro look

Where's that parked, Burbank (Hope) Airport ? That's the Burbank Firefighter training building, through the windshield, I think ?

You could pop-rivet some Aluminum diamond plate over the hole, maybe gasket sheet underneath.

I'm in SFV - If ya wanna sell the snorkel, lemme know. I'll pick up. :D

But frankly, it looks best with the snorkel - and it may come in handy with all those floods we get here! ;)

Wow good eye. It's actually the Glendale fire training center. Ill let you know if I decide to sell.

lol
I contemplated not installing mine after i altready drilled the holes.

You have one 3 3/4" hole that goes through the deep fold in the fender as well as four 1/2" holes around it and three 1/4" holes on the windshield pillar.

If your going to spend any time running in the desert or Baja you may like the Dorkel for keeping dust out of your intake. After all it is it's intended purpose.

When two dorks snuggle....

Put me in line for the snorkel, I have 5 FJ60 wheels I'm looking to get rid of...

I don't know if I'd be able to stomach drilling those holes. Especially the pillar ones. Yikes!

Thanks for all the offers guys but at this point unless I find legit solution that bad boys staying on. Even if I look like a total poser rolling around the city.
Back when that whole end of the world thing was a thing I had two different people ask me if I was getting ready for the flood. Lol

The tires are Goodyear duratracs 285/75 16

When I drive my 60 to work, in No Hollywood, I get same responses from the Prius-driving weenies!

Just use the snorky and submerge to wiper level: :p

I was actually looking at the eagles...nice to see how they look on a 62. What size tires are you running?

You talkin to me? 15x8 Pacer wheels and 35's.
