Hello All,
I’ve got my Sniper in and all systems are ready to go except I just need some advice on how to run the vacuum hoses. This is what I have set up so far.

1. Sniper body vacuum line to distributor advance per Sniper and Jim C who recurved the dizzy.
2. Intake manifold connection below Sniper on Man a Fre block off plate to PCV valve
3. Bottom of air filter to distributor cap

My questions are, how do I hook up the charcoal canister and at there any other vacuum lines I’m missing?

If I recall I routed my charcoal canister to the intake manifold via a vacuum switching valve from a 90’s Camaro emissions system. Under high loads it opens the valve and vents the excess fumes from the canister. It’s been a few years and I don’t have that setup anymore. I’ll search my thread for you.

It’s a one way switching valve from an 80’s camaro. It’s routed from the canister to the valve and then to the intake manifold below the sniper, where most people install the block off plate.

Then the valve is T’d off of the vacuum advance line from the sniper. So when the vac advance kicks in from the sniper it triggers the Camaro valve and dumps the fumes into the intake manifold.

I think you have things routed correctly from what the rest of your post says. If you’re using the OEM canister, I’m not certain how it connects but the concept is the same. I highly suggest the ACDelco canister. Worth every penny.

Edit: I may have routed the canister to the PCV line just after the PCV valve itself and then that into the intake manifold. I can’t seem to find any clear pictures on the other side of the engine bay, but you get the idea of how it should function.

How about your power brake booster?

Thanks

Awesome, thanks a bunch! This is just what I was looking for. I’ll look for the AC Delco part number for the canister. It’s one of the last things on my list.

@Skreddy , I’ve got the brake booster vacuum using the stock fitting on the intake manifold.
