What is SMORR like? I'm a pretty mild off road type. I Like taking the road less traveled and going places others haven't been or can't go. I'm not into beating up my LC, or risking body damage to me or my 40. My 40 is mostly stock with 31s. Are there trails there for me, or should I look for something else?

How long does it take you all to get there in a 40?

Do you gather and drive together or just meet down there?

What kind of turnout is there. Do you have 20 families, or 200?

Are there many other kids that come?

Sorry for the barrage of questions. If you can't tell, I've never been to something like this before. I like some idea of what I'm getting myself into before I decide to go and if the fam will be in tow.

The park has every thing from mild to wild. plenty of easy no damage trails.

How long does it take you all to get there in a 40? From kc around 4 1/2 to 5 hrs

Do you gather and drive together or just meet down there? Some do, watch for or start a thread to plan a group if you like.

What kind of turnout is there. Do you have 20 families, or 200? Planing on around 50 rigs so around 80 people.

Are there many other kids that come? Yes and Walking Egale is planing kids activities. And there will be a kids raffle.

How old are your kids? Mine are 4 and 2 - boy and girl. They will be there enjoying the facilities and the wheeling. SMORR has a really great facility. The bathrooms are modern and clean. They put in a play area for the kids last year.

And we had all levels of trucks on the Sippie Cup Challenge last year at GATOR (GATOR was a multiclub deal, same venue)

I just joined TAC for this event (honest, check is in the mail) - and cause I've wheeled with some of the TAC guys both at Disney and at GATOR last year, and they're a really good group, and have treated my kids really well every time I've been with them.

In my tundra its takes 2 1/2 hours KC to Springfield and another 30 min SPFD to SMORR. Add in whatever time it would take to do it in a 40 vs modern truck.

There will be several trucks there that have no interest in letting a branch touch there truck, much less damage it. Right Zane

HA HA..... Funny, but true.... I will say I have gotten better about not worrying about tree limbs now that I bring a chain saw with me everywhere I go!

I found having your passenger stand through the sun roof with one of these to be helpful.....

Didn't help keep the big trees at GATOR from attacking both my rear doors on Rocker Knocker, which is a three - but the outlet running it backward was pushing a 4 after the all the rains before GATOR. I actually let a girl drive the Lexus up that all the way to the outlet - so it couldn't be that bad :)

There are a bunch of trails that have been added since this map was made

Any of the 2's can be done in a stockish 40. Or in a 100 series with pruning sheers.

Yikes! As I was pondering tomorrows deadline for SMORR I remembered this thread. I guess it looks like I asked a question and then dissappeared. Well... Not being one to plan too far ahead, my wife should give me the final kids schedules tomorrow. That'll help me know if I can get away or not, and with whom. If I can pull it off, I'm really looking forward to it.

Walking Eagle, you asked about my kids. They are all girls ages 16, 12, and 9. The pic below shows my 16 year old showing off the damage from when her friends ran the scooter into a mailbox. It was taken when I met her a few miles from home after running out of gas. The other is my younger girls perched in the "basket" and begging me to drive them around in it. Not happening.
