Does anybody have any tips on programming a smart card for a '15 LX? I purchased a refurbished smart card from UHS Hardware that is advertised to be compatible:
2008-2016 Lexus / Smart Card Key / PN: 89904-50642 / HYQ14ABB (OEM) - https://www.uhs-hardware.com/products/2008-2016-lexus-smart-card-key-pn-89904-50642-hyq14abb-oem
UHS Hardware's "tech support" (such as it is), are no help at all, but tell me that the refurbishment includes wiping the card, and this should allow it to be programmed. I get through the entire programming sequence in Techstream, and it tells me it cannot be programmed. I have four key slots available out of the original seven, and I tried it with the battery provided in the sale and a freshly-bought one in case the provided battery was low in power.
UHS tells me they "really" only sell to locksmiths, and normally don't accept returns from individuals, but I haven't quite decided to fight that battle yet. I just want to get the thing working. My local Lexus dealership's service department is quite lacking in anything but recall work, and I'd like to avoid them (and a programming fee) if at all possible.
Thoughts?
