Ok, so let me get this straight... You are getting ready to swap a pair of SOA'd axles under the Woody THAT you just finished swapping the e-locked axles under WHICH you had just completely cleaned and rebuilt.... and how many wheeling trips has it been on since the swap. I mean I am looking forward to where this road is headed, just making sure I am following the right brake lights :smokin:

The front SOA axle is pretty bent so unfortunately I won't be able to use that.Gonna have to cut and turn the current front housing. And I haven't decided yet, but I may use the all pro histeer arms off that bent axle instead of the marlin crawlers that are supposed to arrive tomorrow. If I can return those, I'll be able to add a few hundred bucks back to the bank account :D
The rear axle is going to be swapped though. It's basically the same as what I have right now, except this 80 FF is already set up for SOA. It will be rebuilt though, which is fine since axle rebuilds are one of my favorite jobs to do haha.
I've been on one trip since the swap and that's pretty much when I decided it needed to change immediately.

Youre following the right brake lights, they're just zigzagging all over the place haha

And thanks for the offer Sam! Well see who it'll be easiest for then go from there

Cool beans man. Just keep rockin' along. In actuality I'm a little jealous of all your wrenching time. :wrench::smokin:

So you are gonna have a few spare axle housings? :hmm:

Are they just housing or will they have any parts inside?

Yeah i work most nights, so if i actually get out of bed in the mornings before 12, i have PLENTY of time to plan and try and prep done.

yeah ill have a couple spare housings, ill probably hold on to one since Aidan want to make a hybrid 9.5" 80 series housing for the front of his truck one day. Don't know how bent the SOAd housing is but probably not by much since Johnnys been driving on it since 09 with no issues except a slightly odd tire wear pattern. And I have so many axle parts its not even funny hahaha.

Got these last night!

Dropped the arms off at ACC today to get powder coated purple to match my locker actuators.

I hope i get my matching purple hat soon, Ted..

Oh I so badly want to post a pic so God forbid we offend "someone", we just can't be havin' that now can we.

RUFFSTUFF SOA kits are in the mail. Ill will get the Antiwrap bar in a couple weeks, right now need to save for tires

Almost have all the parts i need to get started. Is anyone else besides "Randy" willing to assist or are y'all still up in a tizzy wondering why I'm even doing this in the first place to my mall crawler?

Do you have a shop to use to do all this or are you doing it at your house or what?

Either way I don't live too far and could lend a hand if I get some free time.

Hopefully by the end of the month well have cleaned the barn (gotten rusty and all the spiders out), run power down there professionally, and played around with the welder Aidans getting for graduation so that we can at least penetrate and make welds strong.

Then we can do most of the work at my grandmothers daily instead of at Johns once a week. But i figured if i run into a problem, id bring the problem to the weekly workdays (idk if they still will go on after gsmtr) or ACC for answers.

Almost every Saturday no matter if there is a ride planned soon or not...usually someones truck is broke or wanting to do something to it...

So is that up around our side of town? If so I can probably donate a couple of weekend days.

thanks Sam. its 15 miles up 400 in alpharetta from 285. ill shoot ya a message when i plan on getting started so you can see if any days work.

Right now, it takes a lot of energy for me to turn the wheel while I'm driving from parking lot to parking lot at Lenox, so y'all can only imagine how relieved i was to see that my redneck ram showed up the day before GSMTR.

Ive also been sent a link to a site where i can get my FJ steelies for pretty cheap, so I've got 4 of them coming my way. I decided to go with an actual 37" tire instead of the 345s because of the availability of 37s. Only BFG KM2s come in 345/75r16 and they're backordered 9 months of the year so if i scuff one up while curb flexing at the mall, I'm screwed :princess:
