Driving home today, everythings fine. Stop at the store and now from a stop I hit the accelerator and the rpm' s go up but it's like its slipping. I pulled code P0751=shift solenoid "a" performance or stuck off. I recently did a body lift so I'm going to check for loose wires. It's a 2004 so is there anyway to check and/or top off fluid ?

Researched it and what I got was a list of possible causes.Dirty or low fluid,S1 solenoid was bad, clogged valve body, or tranny itself was shot. Decided to do a full flush of the tranny and replace the S1 solenoid. It's my daily driver so dropping the pan and testing the S1 solenoid then waiting for a new one if it tested bad was not ideal. Bought a new S1 solenoid and installed it.

After flush it shifted much better, accelerated smoothly and through all gears. Accelerated from a stop dozens of times, worked perfectly. Patted myself on the back and headed home. Then,at a stop. Same issue of climbing revs and slow acceleration. Got home scratching my head. Went in the garage and tested the old S1 solenoid. Tested good.##"",'"#!':!'

Pulled up my Torque app and there was a new code. P0974 Shift Solenoid A Control Circuit High. Further research. After combining the 2 codes I'd gotten and A750f for the tranny I got my answer. Apparently its a common issue for the Aussies.

The seal on this connector fails.
Opened it up to take a look

Those pics are AFTER spraying with contact cleaner. I had no choice but to run it till a new harness came in.

New harness came in so I got to redo everything I had just done when replacing the S1 solenoid.I picked this up on Amazon to clean out the female contacts on the body side harness. Used the smallest file and worked beautifully.

Old and busted vs New hotness

I squeezed some dialectric grease in there obviously.
Took lots of pics so I wouldn't mess up the cable routing or what connector went where.

Pretty easy really. Not all the connectors are removed the same but IPT transmissions has a handy video on Youtube for installing their valve body that covered it for me. Buttoned it all up, filled and hooked up techstream to monitor tranny temp then leveled the fluid. No more codes and she drives beautifully again.

I pulled the P0974 code. Do you have a part number for the harness?

I do but I'd suggest looking it up using your vin number on Partsouq as there are changes depending on the month of production. Also, there are a number of possibilities causing that code. Did you check the condition of the connector ?

I will. I haven't check the connector yet. It came when I had to make a sudden deceleration to turn right from 45 mph and felt a clunk and the light came on. Cleared the code and reset the ECU to see it comes back and wasn't just an isolated incident.

Guys what mobile app for code reader do you find best to use and download and how does it work.Thanks.
