I recently purchased a ‘99 LC100 that had just had the timing belt replaced, but it had a significant oil leak. After investigating, I discovered that the washer on the idler tensioner bolt was missing, which turned out to be the source of the leak. To be safe, I decided to replace everything with the Aisin timing belt kit. The replacement went smoothly, and it’s running better than ever. However, I noticed that the belt is sitting more forward than expected, with a slight fray along the outer edge of the teeth. Has anyone else experienced this? Only noticed it because I left the right cam cover off because the original one was cracked and my new one hadn’t arrived in time.
