Slee Shortbus bumper

For those who are doing Warn winchs into _____ bumpers, the Warn site gives a ton of good diagrams with the spec'd width from many points & depths.

I used it to figure out what I could fudge-fit into the bumper for my Tundra, and what winch I could fit mounted underdeck in the bow of my jet sled.

They do it for most / all current models, not sure b/c never looked but maybe they even do specs for 8274's & similar layout.

Had the Shortbus off for new powdercoat. Looks like 25.5" x 8". Clearance on the motor side is 7.75", from inside frame rail to mounting hole (remember offset)

Highly recommend the XP 9.5. I've bagged the SH!T out of mine and just rebuilt it for $100 6 years on and it's still a champ. More powerful than some of the cheap "12k".

Not the best idea to run the solenoid on top of the winch though. Discovered mine was toast from exposure during rebuild. I ditched the Warn solenoid in favor of an Albright remote mounted behind the grill (or in the engine bay). Think I paid $100 for the new solenoid from Summit.

Made in England (not China), completely sealed, third the size and works with the Warn remote. Mo better.
Note: I cut-off the bumper cross-bar to accommodate an intercooler. In your case this bar may affect the 8" depth?

I considered that myself, also the UV exposure on my synthetic line. I just covered my whole winch with a neoprene cover. Cost $15 or $20 on Amazon.

@LandCruiserPhil has that winch also, he said it was a PITA to fit and get to the bolts.

My WARN is a 20 year old X8000i and the holes on my slee bumper did not lay out and required modification for fitment. I have heard that the holes have changed from the earlier bumpers to be more accommodating something you would be better off asking slee off road about.

It does fit nice and very tight much to my liking

I called just this last week and asked about the Slee bumper fitting my Zeon 10s winch. What I was told, they had one in the shop at that moment they were fitting one for a customer. You do need to relocate the solenoid, and modify the lower trim on the grill to fit. Guess I should say this was on a 97' FZJ 80.

I put a Comeup on mine, Just had to mount the control box under the winch.

Forgot that I already had these...Earlier I said I notched to the front. Actually it was to the rear. Driver Side and Pass. Side views. Also one from the bottom. (Forgot to go back and weld in where I notched out). And one down from the top. It really is a tight fit. Hope this helps.

Besides those two holes is shows you elongated; did you have to do anything else to get it to fit? Possibly picking one up tonight

Since the thread was revived. Wasnt finished installing when this pic was taken. I’ve since pulled a stuck in snow x5 out of a downhill driveway with it.
