Anyone have a pic of a Slee rear with the stock hitch mounted underneath. Thanks.
I searched a bit but didn't see much.

Why would someone do this when they could just slap a drop hitch in the Slee receiver? To hook into an officially rated product?

I would wager that mounting the stock hitch in conjunction with the Slee rear would void any stated safety compliances and/or ratings as the mounting arrangement for the hitch would be altered.

I have an earlier Slee rear bumper and it does not have a reciever tube, just the mounting pattern for a bolt on hitch on the rear. I have used a class 3 frame mounted hitch underneath the Slee bumper several times. It fits fine and works great. They both use the same holes in the frame. John

Hey inkpot. Thanks. Good to hear.

Settle down Trigger. I wasn't being rude or combative. I also didn't offer you an opinion on what you should or shouldn't do. I was simply asking you a valid question...Which got me thinking about whether or not the the hitch manufacturer would back their tow ratings seeing how the mounting would be altered.

Sorry dude, I'm a bit on edge today. Doctor told me to stop drinking coffee and I've been frustrated lately with a lot of the useless dribble people spout off on some of these forums.

Anyway to answer your question the reciever in my SLEE is sloppy as hell and doesn't tow well. I need to haul a 25ft camper somewhere. I'd rather use my stock hitch.

Hey Peanut, you have an amazing grasp of the obvious. I don't think I'll have any clearance issues on I5 and I'll take the hitch off when I'm done.

Not to mention negating clearance and departure angle improvements gained with the Slee bumper versus the OEM bumper.
It is definitely a clearance issue, so mine stays off except for the rare occasion that I need to tow with it. I recently bought a bolt-on combo pintle/ball hitch for doing light duty stuff. It is easier to add and remove than the big frame hitch and it is more than adequate for my custom utility trailer that I have. John

Sneak a cup of joe before posting that.

Slee took mine off before installing so don't know if it will work or not. I am sure Christo would know.

We have fitted afew factory Toyota bars here back underneath the Slee bar, for big 3.5-4 tonne van towers.

Just a couple of spacers in a couple of places, for the bar thickness needed.
