First gen single swingout, but shows the antenna mounted.

amazing:):):):)

First off, great job Christo!

I know you have provisions for an antenna mount, but since your asking; I'd prefer one up higher, almost on plane with the roof for better Rx/Tx. It would also allow for a work light to be mounted up higher instead of just down low.

These images were taken from ExPo (Courtesy of ExpeditionsWest for credit).

Look at those hideously long bolts.

I realize it's a fine line though; I mean after all, we don't want to look like a Schooner on Viagra, but I'd enjoy the higher mounts for an elevated light source and radio performance off of the flat roof.

What material is used for the spindle/hub cap? Is it aluminum still?

very nice Mr Slee.
a few Qs for you.

Can you do the rear bar a la Muddy.au's bar where the rear wheel is in the centre so us Aussies dont have to add the lights a la Kaymar in the bar itself.

If i ordered a two wheel bar (thru Darren at Assassin Offroad) , would you do the brake and indicator lights, or would Darren have to cut that out.
Either way, would that hurt the structural integrity of the bar?

Just asking as i am looking at LPG and the LPG tank will go where the spare is underneath, and they also tell me i will lose the sub-tank. (and thats another story) so losing the spare wheel spot means i need to move it move it.
Not losing my sub-tank without a fight!
anyway.
happy to hear your thoughts
cheers

/snip

there was mentioning of the single arm "classic" style swingout down the line after some of the duals get out into the hands of customers. Dont remember which thread it was, i think it was the slee rear bumper thread with all the !!!!!!! in the title.

How bout some sort of carrier for a jerry can? Or even better, a way to mount the new RotoPax gas can that a lot of people are starting to use.

The jerry can holder is probably the first. I will also look at the adapters to mount the RotoPax.

I would consider lighting options. Maybe an adjustable LED floodlight bar for repairs or camp setup plus a smaller spotlight for backup or trailering.

The tire carrier has a spot for a backup light. It is low, but one can always look at a tall adjustable holder ala Kaymar.

I assume it will come only in black?
Yes, it will be black.

How hard is it to remove the ladder mount swing out for daily use?

Undo the cap and remove the arm. For the ladder it would be easy unless wires are attached to it.

Is that the antenna mount in the middle?

There is an antenna/light mount low and then one in the middle towards the top of the tire carrier. It is at the yellow circle. This also shows the hi-lift mount.

10lb propane/CO2 tank carrier
Lockable storage/tool box

Again, on the list.

How about a dummy side that can be loaded with bearings. That way when you remove a carrier you can retain the lowerseal and lower bearing race?

We are working on plastic caps with a o-ring seal to use when the carriers are not in place.

What about a bike carrier? Ski carrier?

Might look at making some adapters to fit some of the Rhino Rack parts.

How about rod holders for the surf casters?

Not many of those here, so I don't expect a huge demand. However we actually have a bunch of those rod holders that we got with TJM stock. So I can see what it would take to get that mounted.

Did you happen to design the ladder so that it would clear the rear wing on the 06-07 Cruisers?

That we did not check yet. You are talking about the big old whale tail?

Christo: The description on your website regarding the new Dual Swing Out Rear Bumper states its "designed to work with the Slee Diff Drop". Huh?

Don't know what you are talking about Willis :D

Any chance this bumper will be designed to be installed on 80s also?

Not right away, but we might.

See pic higher up. Should be easy to make a T bar to accommodate the lights higher up.

Cap is anodized aluminum.

We can still produce the old style bar. I am working with Darren to see if he can take a whole batch. Cheaper in shipping etc. I am also going to see if it feasible to make another carrier with the tire centered. Just trying to not Swiss Cheese the bumper with all the holes.

Thanks for all the comments. Will start working on those ideas.

How about a gear bag, maybe a tough nylon to keep stuff like tow straps, shackles, jack off tool etc. To make recovery simple without having to get into the car?
Do you think a double jerry can holder?
How about a work bench or facility to mount a small vise for repairs when out in the field, maybe between the two swing outs? or just on the back of the ladder?
Just some thoughts, great looking product by the way

Oh another thought how about a barbeque?

Double post, opps!

What about mounting a rotopax inside of the swing arms? They are only 3" thick, and if you could mount 2 of the 4gallon rotopax vertically, one per arm, that would be a great use of space. But, the swing arms might be too close the body... just a though...

wow that looks good! but can it sustain a very long trip/holiday/vacation of say 3000kms? To be honest that looks nice mr fish, but what roads/tracks are you going on?

my favourite place to go is Point Hicks about 400kms on the highway and then about 100kms on well what used to be logging roads, then they layed down tar to a fairway down, mainly for the logging trucks. We always thought it was for the tourism, but noticed the tar eventually stopped not far from the National Park boundary. They grade the remainder of the dirt tracks in the school holiday season to cater for the massive holiday traffic - i've even seen a Porsche 911 down there, but outside that...na. No caffe lattes there though (yet) Out of season then you've got "shake rattle and roll" on the agenda!
And i have marked two spots on my GPS (as info...maybe i can figure out how to change it to a warning) where the corners are off camber, and massive ruts and if you are not paying attention you WILL go off into the bush!!

thanks Mr Slee for the info. I can see i need more $$ to spend on my LC100!!
cheers

I know Darren supplied one to a customer that had his ARB rear bumper fail. It was removed and ours installed. Please check with him at AutoCraft on the durability. We have shipped quite a few down there and I have not heard of any negative feedback.

i wasnt referring to your durability, but the pic of whatever that 4x4 was on post 30 on page one. THAT is something i would question about 3000kms.

i'll talk to Darren when i am ready and that will avoid any confusion.

It's a late model Jeep Wrangler, I have 2 jeeps and would not want to go anywhere close to 3000kms. in either of them. I would use the LC to tow one 3000kms., however. :D

It looks like i chose a great time to buy a TLC. I look forward to coming over the hill from GJ to give Slee lots of money. Awesome looking product!

oops, double.

hey mooooooo, not sure I get your comment, it's kinda random... that's NOT a picture of MY Jeep, is that what you where thinking?? I wouldn't own a Jeep to save my life... if you read the post, you'll see I was making a comment simply on an option of mounting a rotopax (or 2) on the INSIDE of the swing arm of SLEE's bumper... that is a picture of some wankers Jeep off the rotopax site.... read my signature for my ride, and it does amazingly well on my 3000 MILE fishing trips to northern British Columbia every year...

I would suggest that it is kinda missing the boat to have a one jerry can holder. Should be 2 or 3. Maybe make the space modular so it can be used for something else when only the 1 can is needed. Of course, ground clearance and rear window clearance are issues with all that.

apologies. no i wasnt saying it's yours, i was wondering how long it would last on some roads with corrugations. Obviously without seeing the workmanship up close it's probably not a good comment or question. And no, i know that's not yours as i've seen you post on here.
sorry for the confusion
cheers

I own 2, and they have saved my life! I still would put one on a trailer before driving it 300kms.
