Ski rack with roof basket options????? Help.

I have a gobi roof basket and need to carry at least 2 pairs of ski's. I can't put the skis on top due to garage door hight limitations so I need to mount the skis to the side of the roof basket.


So far I cave contacted all the major ski rack and roof basket manufacturers and still have not found a solution.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

How are you at fabrication? You could make a mini wake board tower rack which could fit on the side. Or what we do it just use a rubber strap and put it against the outside. This one you might just have to come up with something clever that works for your rack. Or another direction, there are hitch mounted ski racks.

Buy an older yakima ski wing or whatever. Cut down a length of single pair of skis (base2base). Re-rivet the hinges, re-drill mount and viola!
