Sideview mirror tilting up (1 Viewer)

Got a weird one here, The other day my sideview mirrors started to tilt up and in rather than down and in with the reverse auto-tilt feature. Not sure what is going. I only suspect the gearing inside the sideview housing is off somehow, but completely baffled as to how this would have happened. I have done a few things like moved the mirror up/down/left/right with the adjustment button, hit the auto fold in feature, and also broke away the mirror backwards. None of this appear to reset the gearing.

Anyone had this issues out there? Thx.

I had a similar issue but it was when I took delivery of a 2019 model I used to have. When I shifted into reverse, the mirrors went up instead of down. I had a sinking feeling that something was wrong so I disabled the feature until I could get back to the dealer. After a day or so, I tried it again and it did the same thing. This time I left the transmission in reverse and used the mirror adjustment to move them to where I liked it and it has worked perfect since then. Hopefully yours is a similar easy fix.

Side mirror stop tilting down in R gear

For my 09 LC 200, I started to notice my side mirror stop tilting down when I am in R gear. Is there a setting I turned off or I need a trip to the dealer.

1). To set these positions shift to Reverse (obviously with the brake applied) and then adjust the left and or right mirror to wherever you want them when in reverse.
2) To activate, when in Reverse make sure the mirror adjuster selection switch is in EITHER the R or L position. In either positions, BOTH mirrors will move to the positions you set in step 1.
3). If you don’t want the mirrors to shift while in reverse, move the mirror adjuster selection switch to the “center” position.

Yes, the reverse has memory of position even left and right rotation.
Once you are happy with it, you can save the seat memory preset so you can go back to it. Along with the normal driving mirror position.

I reverse out of the house and then press the button to flip the side mirrors, sometimes could push the mirror adjustment by accident if it was still in gear.

Apparently being able to store reverse positions was added in 2016, as it seems the earlier trucks just have a default position. Or at least that was the conclusion when I tried (for a long time) to store positions in my 2013.
