This is a weird one - I looked up a lot of posts here and every YouTube video there was.

Going to remove the glass so I can disassemble the mirror - I noticed there is no screw for the glass which seems to secure it inside the housing:

Maybe this one fell out, I checked the other side - same thing (no screw). Glass is not shakey, but the whole-housing swing mech. broke so it swings around as I drive.

Tempted to just pry the glass out, but don't want to break anything else.

Any tips? I try not to post for simple things but this is another small item I just can't figure out from posts/youtube.

For reference: 94 Land Cruiser (fzj but in-between model)

Thanks, do you know if it's best to pry the mirror out from the bottom or top?

Its ages since I had one off.

From memory, pull from the bottom. The mirror has plastic tabs (ears) that the mirror hangs from. these tend to break and cause shaky mirrors.

Try a search using "shakey mirror" as keywords. If you can find them, there's pics of the back of the mirror glass and plastic, and pics of repairs people have done to fix them.

Perfect, thank you all - I checked for zipties and didn't see any so I just ripped the thing out from the bottom. Worked great and nothing seemed to have broke...

Big thank you. A simple but nerve-racking fix.
