In the past I have been able to get by with 1.5 gals but required a place to hang the shower. This seems like it will work anywhere and possibly use less water.:hhmm:

Nice and easy. We use a Zodi Extreme. Works for the family but it's bulky and takes a while to heat.

I have wanted to go for runs on the canal (near work) for a while, but there is no-where to take a quick shower before going to work.

I just bought one of these and will give it a try for a quick rinse-off prior to heading into work where I can then change clothes.

I had actually thought about using a 2-liter bottle before, but didn't have a good way to make good use of the water. I imagine having a few 2-liter bottles filled with water in the car should do the trick.

If you are going to go that route, why not this? <Linky

Chemicals optional. :flipoff2:

All kidding aside. Power washers don't require as much water to do the same job, so here you apply some air pressure, or find a way to hook your compressor to the thing, and you use a small amount of water and get more than just a trickle of water you get a spray. With a compressor you could add some kind of pressure regulator.

Why not the Helton heat exchanger?

I use a pump sprayer, painted it black added a spray head on it leave it in the sun and good to go

Why not the Helton heat exchanger?

I have a heat exchanger but Im into simple anymore. Dont get me wrong there is something nice about unlimited 100°+ water but it does not come without its own issues and limitations.

I would like to hear you opinion on this because I am/was considering the Helton for my rig.

My set up is high performance with 2.5 gpm so you need a lot of water or have the vehicle close to a water source. Being near a water source is not always easy or possible. I have also found people are not always happy to see you bathing need to the stream or lake.

If you want hot water your vehicle needs to be warmed up 100% to make hot water.

Mine you need to keep the water flowing otherwise the first burst of water after sitting can be up to 175°. Again you need lots of water.

There is a lot of equipment you need to find a place for under the hood.

You have limits on how tall of a column of water the pump can lift. If you use a cheap pump it could only be 4-5'. Not good when your pump is mounted at 4' above the ground to start with.

Given good conditions its better then most motel showers with unlimited hot water. For me its more work then I want to get involved with.

Now I use Dr Bronners peppermint :princess:and a wash cloth to keep fresh on multi day trips. I found Dr Bronners to be very popular with many that live and travel out of there vehicle. For me the Simple Shower would fit the need for a quick rinse and washing my hair.

My wife did absolutely love the unlimited hot water the on board shower provided and so did I once set up.

It's back to available on Amazon again, mine is on the way.
