Has anyone made a shower set up with on of the black Scepter water cans? My thoughts are to inquire about a cap and rig it much like the presurized jerry can gas pumps. Have a scraeder tire valve on one side, hose fittings on another hole with a small hose, low volume shower head with valve, and pump that baby up with my on-board air compressor.

The reason I'm thinking mobile is so I can use it in either Land Cruiser we own.

Thanks for the ideas.

No but that's a great idea assuming the Scepter cans can take enough pressure to push a couple gallons or more at a time. Use a water heater (Coleman, Zodi, etc.) to run the water temp up if needed and you're good.

what you can also do is take a garden sprayer. 2 gals or so. You spray yourself (or better, have the :princess: do it :D) uses much less water than a regular shower or bucket and no building anything. Plus you can use it as air conditioning when it's hot. Just be sure not to use / leave insecticide in it... :)
You want hot water? paint it black and leave it in the sun...

Get a Stainless Steel Garden Sprayer, add a kitchen side sprayer.....and you are set for $60.00 or so. With a SS garden sprayer...you can heat directly over your stove and have hot water during those chilly winter days....

Glad to see where this thread has gone as I also would like to use the garden sprayer idea. Only problem is I can't find a 2 gal stainless sprayer for a decent price. I did find one but it was lined with some sort of plastic so no good for heating directly on the stove. Any sources?

I think some guys were using something found at ACE hardware. Are you over on ExPo? They have lots of write ups on showers there.

Let me know if you need the link.

Good idea - I will check there...

expeditionportal right?

If you still want to go for the can option, perhaps just use a metal one? could heat it on the fire, or paint it black for hot water, and use the air compressor attachment for fuel as a shower.

For the plastic tank, I'd go with a black one for heat, and probably use a small bilge pump for the shower, rather than pressurising the plastic container.

I love the showering with a weed sprayer option tho! Might give that one a try:) I guess if you already have a reasonable size pot, you could heat water and put into the plastic spayer (just warm, not boiling or anything)

latino guy ..are you giving away my shower ideas????with out saying where you saw it:confused:
you guys can buy these from the do-it center and the sprayer is a kitchen sink dish sprayer. It is stainless steel so I put it on a stove and heat the water up. In the summer it gets strapped to the roof and the water is hot by the end of the day.

Cowboy, LOL yeah I saw an odd looking container on your roof rack during the Mojave Road trip and I discussed with my buddy what use you probably had for it...and we figured right...so a few days later we started working on building one...."googling" the shower sprayer got me the detailed info I needed from some one off the internet.
