Should I get OEM Distributor or is aftermarket ok?

Or I could sell you a good used one a hell of a lot cheaper

For a part like a distributor that will see untold thousands of revolutions on even a short trip, I wouldn't consider anything but OEM.

can you send yours out to get rebuilt ? i would do that first

Don't buy a loaded distributor with cap and rotor. Get the distributor and then get the cap and rotor separate. Cheaper that way from Toyota. If you can wait get the dist. from @Akella. He may even sell the cap and rotor too. I forget what I paid but it was WAY less than 500.

OEM while it is still available. I just pulled mine and got a new one from Beno for WAY LESS than $500. Dealerships are not the place to purchase OEM parts in my area. The dealerships can mark up anything they want and charge what the market will bear. Have you looked at partsouq.com

I have a cheap amazon one in mine. Works fine and at 50 dollars buy two and carry the extra as a spare. People have talked alot about refurbishing these, and I believe the thought is they cannot be refurbished. However with machine tools the right press you could probably create a new bushing and find a seal that would match the dimensions if you searched hard enough.

Just buy a used one for 50 bucks shipped.. seen a few sell lately for that price
