What material and what color was original for the insulation that was behind the seats on the body wall for a short bed (63)

I think it was like the same material under the hood of modern cars now and I think it was black.

Anyone have picture? It was screwed in to the receiving screw holes on the vertical inside panels behind seat.

Thanks for help in advance.

didn't know there was insulation, I thought it was the pebbled material. Mine still has some in the cab. I haven't dared to disturb it yet.

When you say pebbled material...what is it? Have a picture?

hard to describe, bumpy, textered

pics in a day or two

Thanks so much...trying to find something to replicated the material...any tips from other short bed owners?

It was painted body colour from what I've seen, best way to describe would be "cardboard leather" but very fragile now after 54 years, although the red 63 is complete I've planned on using thin sheet metal and painting body colour on my other 63 which doesn't have any trim left
original paint Seminole red 63 and repainted grey 64 was beige

mine is the same.

Awesome pics and explanations.

Oldish thread but another question. Is there anything else behind this cover, some sort of insulation? I don’t have the covers (except one small piece like shown above) but there is styrofoam residue, probably not original?
