All:

Have a 2016 LC with 19k on it...and have the following situation:

We use my LC as the primary vehicle for extended trips or those excursions that require additional capacity. Family of 5 and two large dogs (170lbs combined) that sometimes ride in the back with some gear.

I usually have my Yakima box on top with up to 150# of stuff and may use a hitch basket if necessary. Additionally, I may end up with a FrontRunner roof rack to support more weight than the stock cross bars.

Finally, I very rarely need to pull my 22.5ft Crownline that (with trailer) weighs in around 6000#.

My question is what can I do from a suspension perspective that doesn't require an entirely different set up? I'd prefer to stick with shocks if I can...I don't drive off road currently although might do some light exploring next fall. And as you can imagine, I'd prefer not to diminish the quality ride that the stock LC offers.

Thanks in advance!

I agree with @indycole that airbags could be a great solution. I have the Firestone Coil-Rite 4164 airbags on my LC that perform well for the times I need some extra support in the rear for heavy loads. Maintaining the stock shocks maintains the stock ride, so win-win.

I'd agree with @indycole . Sounds like your need is primarily load leveling when laden. While not sacrificing ride quality when empty. The duality is nicely solved by bags. Relatively cheap and easy install without any permanent suspension tuning commitment.
