Alright, what do y'all have to say about shock boots?
I don't care how they look or don't look, I'm concerned about their ability to protect the shafts of expensive monotube shocks. Some insist that they trap moisture and dirt, and make the situation worse. Doesn't make sense to me considering we have boots on our steering arms and nobody says run without them. Maybe folks aren't attaching the boots adequately?

What say ye?

I used to run them on my Nissan pickup with ProComp shocks and hated them. With the thin lip on the end of the shock, there usually isn't a way to really firmly attach them, so water and crap will get in there. No way to stop it. The slurry of mud would then be trapped on the tube end of the shock and the seal would wear and start leaking. I hated them. I went through two sets of shocks with the boots, then quit using them and had no issues. Not very scientific, but I didn't love them. The ProComp boots did have small drain holes, but they were too small to be effective and would plug up with crud. If you're only trying to shield the shocks from gravel off the tires, they're great. If you live somewhere it rains...
