Bloodhound break

that is what happens when you don't exercise your working dog
poor Buick

this is what happens when you're too lazy to shorten your tow strap (or open the gate)

this is what happens when you are too lazy to take the brush bar off to install the PS cooler

and finally this is what happens when you buy generic parts from China

stupid squeals.

Found my oil leak finally. It's coming from the base of the dizzy. Never would have thought it. Now to fix it.

Nearly watched a Jeep roll over the front bumper yesterday. I was right behind him at Evans Creek coming down the 519A boulders. He took a bad line and got too steep. Rear tires came off the rocks and he started to rotate over. The driver had the presence of mind to hit the throttle to drop the rear then the brakes to keep from running into a tree. Wow. I wish I had been filming it.

wow on the attempted roll

replace the distributor gasket. That said, if it doesn't fix it, you'll need to replace the housing - there's 2 ways it can leak. 1) there's an oil seal in the housing the seals the shaft, or 2) the distributor isn't tight in the block and there's just too much play for the gasket to seal. I've had both happen, the 2nd on a 'new' yet Chinese distributor.

The internal seal fails mainly because the shaft can, eventually, wear the aluminum enough for just a bit of flop.

SuperBuickGuy,

Did you ever decide on an internal fuel pump. I know you mentioned your external one being too noisy.

Just was wondering what kind/brand you went with.

Nice Build!

Thanks
Steve

I haven't yet, the internal pump will come with a new tank. More likely then not, I'll adapt a stock, GM TBI in-tank pump to whatever I build

My thought too. First thing I did was see if it was loose.

I finally had someone else listen to my growling steering. His first thought was the pump. Except that I just replaced it. I am going to talk to the gearbox rebuilder. Might be the box. The sound got much worse and lasted several seconds even when driving straight. So odd.

your timing would change if it were that loose.

Need a cup holder, and all the stuff I've found was either plastic crap or expensive plastic crap....
I did find something the right size

but then thought perhaps cutting up my paint gun holder was a bad idea (if I'd have had 2 I would have)
find the right die

weld it to the table

bend into circles

weld together

paint

installation tomorrow

I like the idea, I think you will need to bend two more circles and weld them close to the bottom.

cup holder

installed

next up is brackets for these

and a quandry

This particular radio is an AM/FM radio, broadcast on CB radio frequencies (29), and 70cm, 2m, 6m, & 10m. It can also receive on 700-900 - which makes it also a police scanner.

the quandry is multiple - do I keep the CB I already installed and the radio? (probably to allow multiple-band listening), but with the radio - do I really need more then a USB player? .... I'm all for technology and capability - but do I really need it?

weigh in, interested to hear other thoughts

Will the cup holder hold a Starbucks coffee? How about a disposable water bottle? Those were my personal requirements.

Love the radio. I had looked for one like that originally. I want AM/FM, USB for an iPOD, CB, and stereo speaker outputs. I need to check that out. a CD player will be toast in no time. No need for one.

Got my rear fender flares. While looking at the fit last night I noticed my rear springs were a bit off... Looks like I sheared the center bolts. The right side looks like it moved forward on the spring pack. More work.
