How hard is it to change out. I cant see it in the FSM and havent popped the boot yet.

My tranny is hard to get all the way in 3rd gear and it pops out under load damn near breaking my wrist. I'm hoping this is the problem.

Any thoughts?

the nylon shifter seat is a one banana. pull the shifter, remover the remains of the old one and put the new one in... about $15...

I finally got around to replacing the seat this evening. That was definatley the problem. Only half of it still remained was it ever rotten. This was by far the best $22 bang for buck part. A highly recommened easy job! And i thought my tranny was gonna pack it in"brow wipe"
