Anyone have problem with the tach jumping around. It's fine in the morning but as the day progresses, it starts jumping. Sometimes it'll just stay on 0.
 
That air cleaner, alt, and fan shroud clear the hood?

Are you using a dakota digital converter for the tach?

My 315K mile tach just stopped working one day. Replaced with a lower mileage unit. Guess they get tired? I didn't have any luck when searching for tach rebuild info.
 
Yeah, why did you cut the hood brace? Zero need to do that.
 
Everything clears. I didn't cut the hood. The previous guys did that. I don't know why.

I just picked your name from the first thread I saw it in, so I'll ask you here:
I have a 10/86 FJ60 that I'm applying a AFI TBI unit to. I'm using the stock (completely desmogged) intake manifold. What are folks using for an air cleaner for this arrangement? I don't think this system has any sensors north of the TBI section.
Probably well covered elsewhere (maybe in the 40 threads?) - if so can you point me to it?
