Hi everyone,
I want to order my new rear shackles today to go with the 2 inch rear Ironman springs. Must I go with a lift shackle, or is a regular non-lift shackle fine?

Thanks,
Zack

It might not be a bad idea to replace them. The pins may be worn and crusty. The longer they are the more it will affect the ride so unless you're looking to maximize you tire size I wouldn't go too extreme.

Yeah that's the thing, I don't want the ride changed much. So I guess I should stick with a non-lift shackle ? I will be getting new pins, etc because the stock stuff is trashed.

Mine runs on 2" Man-A-Fre springs and 2" Man-A-Fre shackles, runs fine.

Careful here. A spring with more arch, is longer when it flattens out than a standard spring. It's usually best to run a slightly longer shackle to avoid binding and similar problems. I ran a shackle 3/4 inch longer than stock and never had any issues.

Since you live in the rust, I agree your pins are likely toasted, and when you see them, you will want to replace them. The OME shackles are nice and so are the maf 4+ greasable shackles.

Thats what I seem to remember reading! So then I will need a bit longer shackle. The thing is that I don't want that much lift, so that's why I am afraid of going to long on the shackle, but 3/4 inch is not that big of a deal.
