I have a 2001 Cruiser. I understand the ratings of tow and snatch straps. I understand the WLL of Bow/Anchor shackles. But how does the WLL of the Shackle play into a dynamic pull with a snatch strap? I have shackles that have a WLL of 3.25 tons, which covers the weight of the Cruiser for a tow or winch. Is that enough to cover the stress from a snatch strap recovery?

Thanks!

Good question. I have a 3/4 shackle that wont fit the factory front recovery point. What is the proper size for front?

I bought this one for rear recovery. Its rated for 10k. Have not been stuck yet, but i used it to move a fallen tree from a trail with no issues.

I use 10k rated shackles - 2 on my front bumper and 1 mounted to a receiver in my hitch. All have been used in multiple vehicle extractions (both myself and others) as well as for moving extremely large trees out of the road.
