Mixed feelings here.

Did it on mine but i do not like the front end dipping so much when i hit the brakes.

I do not think i would do it again.

This is just my perspective though. Take it all with a grain of salt.

Mine just goes to the beach. It is what i built it for. But yes i think it would hang up. I just do not personally think it is all what it is cracked up to be.

This is just personal experience and opinion.

Most people that give amazing differences between rigs with and without a SR had soemthing seriously wrong with their suspension before the mod.

On road handling is not much different (I have driven both many times)
They tend to be rock finders on Spring under rigs.
The only reason I see for doing a SR is to get the front shackle out of the way so you don't tag them on rocks.

For a cheap lift go with any of the aftermarket springs (OME or such) and shackles..

A SR is going to add more cost when it is all said and done..

Did it on my 40 and I am not totally impressed. It was a tag along with doing the power steering (something I am impressed with).

If that was not part of the deal, I see no real point of doing a SR. I have front shackles on my 4Runner (basically a 60 series setup on it) and it rides and rock crawls better than the SR '40.

Good suspension is the key, not moving the shackle points around, IMHO.:)
