Been busy, sorry for lagging. Yes i would take what you offered for it.
I would say that if you filled the radiator, you could drive 50 miles or so before the needle starts gravitating towards hot.. If you're bringing it back to Santa Rosa, I'd trailer it if it were me.
My friend who is a mechanic told me that doing just the head gasket for parts and labor would be about $1500.. On a motor with this many miles it would be better to have the heads looked at too! Doing JUST the head gasket would work for a while, but I'd consider that more of a band-aid at this point.. I want you to know what you're thinking about buying! This is more of a candidate for a motor swap, or a rebuild..
