I purchased my 2002 LX470 last March and yesterday I found an interesting Service History
log that was not on the online Service History at Lexus Drivers .
In the back of the packet of books included with my purchase was a Maintenance Manual
which I pretty much just ignored as I found the Owners Manual more interesting. Then I
got curious about what exactly is a Lexus "5K service" and opened up this manual.
Look what I found - see photo.
Looks like my LX was base lined just 1,000 miles before I purchased her. She had 24,930 when
I took delivery and the service was done at 23,727. In addition, there was yet another oil change
done by the PO at 24,687. BUT, that base line was done 6 years ago on 12/16/2010. Still, the
oil on all the sticks look fresh as new. Looks like everything was flushed and refilled with
Synthetic Oil and "SP BG Conditioner" - whatever that is.
My recommendation is if you have recently purchased an LC/LX, do check the back of the
vehicles Maintenance manual as you might find some valuable information.
