Hey all I don't post over here on the 100 series sight much. But the other day I helped my father in law buy a used 2007 Land Cruiser and I took it to the dealership to change the AHC fluid, all the differentials and to repack the front bearings.

Here is what they said, You need new bearing and it will cost 1,300 dollars. I said no they just needs to be repacked. They said no you can't repack these bearings, those are on the old land cruisers. I told them to do nothing and that I would take it elsewhere. I took it to a local shop and they did the work for 300 bucks. In this shop the owner has worked on Toyota's but I am looking for a shop that really knows land cruisers

That being said I also own a 200 series with 50,000 miles on it and I am really wanting a good shop that can work on both the 100 and the 200.

So all owners in the Salt Lake Utah area do you have some recommendations on some good shops to work on our land cruiser's???

I don't know about 200 series maintenance, but Divinity has a good track record with old Land Cruisers and seem to be very good on the 100 series as well.

Also, for typically non-mechanical check out Cruiser Outfitters.

That's pretty disappointing. Mind sharing which dealer it was?
My personal experience with the local dealer service has been less than satisfactory in recent years. That said, Mark Miller Toyota service deparment had a good reputation last I checked (but I've heard some 1st hand stories that were less than impressive). Malone Toyota has been OK for me in the past, as has LHM Lexus.
I'd talk to Cruiser Outfitters for a referral. And don't hesitate taking it to a competent non-dealer shop if you have one you trust.

COs recommended Divinity to me a few times and they've been good. Replaced the MC when my brakes went out last fall. Good work for a fair price.

It was with Karl Malone Toyota - They are great people with great customer service and I feel like they will do everything to take care of their clients.... That being said, I just don't think they work on enough land cruisers. I had to go to LHM Lexus to get my AHC changed no brainer for them as all the lexus 470 have the AHC, Karl Malone Toyota didn't even know what AHC was!!! I wish I didn't know either lol almost impossible to find a 06 or 07 with out it

I have actually heard Divinity several times maybe they are the guys to go to. thanks everyone for your feedback. I will let everyone know the next time I have a service. My 60k on the 200 will be coming up soon :)

Greg Miller is a big Land Cruiser guy... He heads up the cruiser fest and is the CEO of LHM I wonder who he has work on his Land Cruisers?? He has a whole fleet in a museum lol

I would recommend Divinity first. I shipped my LC to utah and he was generous in helping me with a problem.

But there is a good chance he'll be very busy, as he has a good reputation and loyal customers, so mark miller is probably where you will end up.

mark miller runs as honest a service shop as you'll find. I believe it's Larry that owns the museum. Lots of good options in SLC.

Well, I have to chirp in on this.

I had a horrible experience at Miller. On top of that, a well known landcruiser guru in the SLC area used to be the techie there (I shall not reveal his name). He totally misdiagnosed a J-tube crack on a 60 I brought in for pre-purchase inspection. after purchase, took it back to replace, they said it was now a cracked manifold. Story goes on....PM is you want the details.

Course, that was 10 years ago...seems just like yesterday.

Personally, I don't trust any dealer service departements.
