well weve been working all day to get the tranny and tcase out of our donor 60. and theres only 4 bolts that we found and took out that seem to bee connecting the tranny and belhousing. we also removed the nuts on the crossmember holding down the tranny. we lifted the tranny up and those studs that go through the cross member and bolt down are now able to clear the crosmember. but the tranny still wont budge away from the bellhousing. are there any bolt that were forgeting about?

:bounce2: slege hammer no man dont do that on a serious note if your 100% sure all the bolts are out take a jack stick it under the bell housing and give it SOME pressure but start at the top and check all of the away around but im not sure is yours auto or stick check in with details:beer:

Just got done doing this myself. Sounds like you got all the bolts out. Stupid question, but did you remove the Tcase shifter lever? I had one person on one side of the tranny and me on the other, pushing back and forth and it eventually popped out. Like cruiser88 said use a jack under the bellhousing, mess with the jack height untill you find a sweet spot.

Good Luck-

drop that crossmember that the rear of the transfer mounts to. that will give you more "wiggle" room, and with no tranny it will be useless anyway.

I missed that you still had the crossmember in. Is it even possible to take the tranny out w/ that still bolted up? Regardless, if it is or not, life will be much better if you remove it.

Sometimes the input shaft gets stuck in the pilot bearing. IF you are separating the tranny from the bellhousing then it's 4 bolts, if you're separating the bellhousing from the engine there are more (not sure if that's possible on a gasser, it is on a diesel).

Stupid question but you did remove the drive shafts right? With the rear shaft in place it would be impossible too!

i think it is possible........but you're going to work for it. those 8 fasteners will make life so much easier though.

and you did notice that without that rear motor mount, the only thing holdong the engine is two front mounts, right??
