Semi-floating axles on LC 100 and 200

I know nothing about vehicle design. So you guys can educate me a bit. Both the 100 (105 uses full-floating) and 200 series are much heavier than the 80 series. But how comes they both use semi-floating axles? Doesn't it stress the axle more and increase the risk of snapping it? And especially those armored LC that weigh almost 6 tones, how can a semi-floating axle support all those weight?
 
Short answer, the axle is bigger.

That was in reply to the question about how can a semi floating axle take the extra force placed on it as opposed to a fulling floating one.
