Has anyone shot any SEM Classic Coat for leather on a LX450? I want to order some to cover some minor cracks, but the color charts are impossible to match up over the internet.

Just wondering if anyone knows what SEM color matches the Lex ivory.

TIA!

I wouldn't do it. I'm guessing the po of my cruiser used this on my drivers seat at and now its cracking even more and flakes of the paint is coming off. Looks terrible.

Are you sure that it was a SEM product that was used? Some clublexus guys used SEM with great results.

I've used SEM paint on seats and with proper prep it can work great. Make sure you thorougly clean them and prior to painting use some alcohol to get off any remaining oils.

I would remove the seats from the vehicle and tape of any areas you don't want overspray on. 1 can or so per seat should do the trick. Areas that are heavily cracked can't be "filled" in. Do several light coats when the temp is warm (not too hot) and then repeat as the can suggests.

Acura Creamy Ivory #17323 should be a good bet.. but I've never used it in my LX450.

Thanks for that.

I think you're right about the Acura Ivory.

The Toyota Ivory just looks kinda too darkish to match.

I used to redo seats on the side for car lots. If you want lasting results, it's best to go with a water (as oppossed to laquer) base dye. The water base actually penetrates the leather as where the laquer is basically a "paint job". Looks good initially but is a bit of a superficial repair. Just my opinion of course.
