I am at the Ford dealer trading my 2008 LC for an F250 6.7L Crew and they offer me 31K... Seemed very low compared to the KKB for dealer trade-in value which is 35-37 in good condition. LC has 86K miles on it, new water pump, new driver mirror, new drive shaft, existing 100K warranty . Shouldn't I be able to get 35-36 for this rig?

My guess is they don't know (and dont care) that it's worth more. Did they show you how they arrived at that figure?

Personally I would sell it privately vs trading in.

Its probably about right for trade. Your 08 doesnt appear to have the upgrade package ($7200 when new) so they might be docking some for that. Hard to tell in the pics though. Buy price from a dealer is @ $36K - $38K so that is what the dealer is going to try and sell it for. Counter the offer for $35K and keep negotiating. (of course those figures do vary by zip code)

You can always walk away :)

What incentives do they have on the Ford F250? The new body comes out next model year so they should be offering $10K plus off on existing models.

Archtaan - You are right, I do not have the upgrade package.. No cooler, no factory DVD, steering wheel, etc. They installed a DVD system later.
As for the F250, I have them at 11K off MSRP, which is right were I want them. I plan to counter with 35K and get this wrapped up.

Thanks!

Tas306, I just bought a 2008 with 120k on the clock for 28K from a dealer. It has the upgrade package. Hope the reference helps.

Thanks Buddysuede, we are at 33 now and only 2K from where I want to be.. I am sure they can find 2k laying around.

Thanks Gents...
This site has been very helpful in my quest, although a short lived one, I still fell in love with the LC. Once the kids are in college, I will be buying the wife one! (She drives a Sequoia now)

You're welcome. I did look for over six months before I pulled the trigger on that deal. All 2008s that I looked at were at least 32-35k.

On a separate note, did you get the new driveshaft because of the driveshaft clunk that seems to be prevalent in the 2008? If so was there a Toyota service bulletin on it that you know of?

Yep... My toyota shop got it covered under my EasyCare warranty along with the driver side mirror.
So all in all, I paid 2500 for the extended warranty and had the drive shaft replaced, driver mirror, and water pump.. Good investment!

This sucks. I just saw your Cl ad last night and was going to try to contact you about purchasing. Oh well. Another one I wont be buying I guess :(

Looks like it's up on auto trader already.

@jclarke450 Go in and offer 34.5K, maybe $200 over that and say thanks for detailing it. You know that's what they paid.

Ask for Lee Newton... He's the man..
I pulled the husky's liners out if anyone is interested. Also posted in classifieds.
