I realized a few weeks ago that I have not done an especially good job of marketing these handy brackets for mounting the 'canned ham' Saginaw pumps on the early Landcruisers. I started making and selling these 15 years ago, but I'm not sure I ever dedicated a classifieds thread to them!

The brackets are designed to bolt to the lower left side of the engine, where the alternator would be on an F engine, and the air pump would be on a 2F engine. I had seen a few people use a 2F air pump bracket for this purpose, but the bracket was a serious compromise in my opinion, because it held the pump too close to the bracket [limited pivot arc] too close to the block [limited pivot arc] and too small of a space between the ears [limited ability to align pulleys].

So I made my brackets taller, standing out from the engine block a little more, and with more spacing between the ears. They seem to work very well, and they've been selling ok for the last 15 years, even with the limited exposure on my website and a few mentions on the forum.

Brackets are PN 122-21A and are MUD priced at $85. I also have an adjuster bracket that gives a nice pivot arc for belt adjustment, utilizing a water pump bolt, the same as the original alternator or air pump would have. PN 122-21B, $29.95

These brackets are now out of stock, and I am on the fence about making more. :-(

I have the new quotation. anyone ordering before the 15th can reserve at the old price. After 12/15, the new price will be $85.00.

2022 bump.

Nice pieces Mark, I never knew these existed.

Thanks. Despite what some people think, I don’t do a very good job of promoting myself or my products.

Hey Mark I think I sold you some parts that I make. I need a power steering pump set up for a 1972 FJ40. Bic Green
My answering machine will be back on tomorrow. Give me a jingle.😊

Interested in a solution for my desmogged '78 2F.

Thanks
A solution for a Saginaw pump mount? This is it!

Would this work on a 1971 55 with factory 1F?

I'm also interested in a set for a '65 45 with an F. Am I correct in understanding that these brackets require the alternator to be moved to make room for the PS pump?

The bracket is designed to put the pump on the lower left side of the engine block where the alternator resides on an F engine, and where the air pump resides on a 2F. Use of this bracket is predicted on two things: a dedicated drive pulley on the harmonic balancer, and relocating the alternator on an F engine to the passenger side.

See comment above. If you are running an F135 engine, you have two additional challenges. 1. Lack of a dedicated drive pulley on the armonic balancer. 2. Lack of cylinder head mounting bosses for relocating the alternator.

On my ‘64 I added a bolt on drive pulley to the harmonic balancer because I was too lazy to swap the HB (the cranks is from an F155 which would readily take a 2F HB). I fabricated a pedestal off of the passenger side engine mount and then mounted the power steering pump to the pedestal, leaving the alternator in its original position. One day I will revisit this installation and probably return to the more traditional installation. But it’s nowhere near the top of the list of things to do.

I have a desmogged 2F and my current saginaw PS mount is right next to the headers, and uses a massive one off fabricated multi-bracket mount.

This solution is much cleaner, and would position the PS pump at a much cooler place in the engine bay.

I assume orders are via phone and will call tomorrow.
