I'm trying to decide what product to use on my firewall to help keep the heat out of my cab and off the firewall. I had to really push the motor back into the firewall to get the transmission to sit how I'd like, and there is a little over and inch between the engine and firewall in some places.
I did some searching and found a couple things about heat shields, so I'm curious what peoples results have been with either the Second Skin Firewall product, or an adhesive backed heat shield, such as the Thermo-Tec 135xx heat shield. I like how you can brush on the Second Skin Firewall, and it seems as though its a little better value square foot wise then the Thermo-Tec. I just want some reviews on how the product works.
thanks!

I'm using the firewall product on my diesel conversion and it does alright but I think using it along with heat shielding would be better. It does knock down some heat but the floor boards still get pretty warm when I'm pulling a load up the hill. I also don't have any carpet inside so that would be another layer of absorption that would help.

I have used a mixture of Quietcrap and Second Skins Damplifier Pro throughout the truck.
Im just about to finish the engine bay, will post pics soon

have you used this for sound deadening or for heat shields? I'm trying to figure out whats best for this application, and my wallet.

My Build will have egg crate you see under the NEW 2008- euros ..

this mounts 10mm / 1/4" off of the fire wall with stands offs. this is the first sound heat I'm using.

I pull this from Bone yards euros.. They never sell this stuff , so is cheap or move to another bone yard.

When i get the Body donor up here , FJ /4.2 pulled (160k on clock) , then the special body protection and suspension before the Diesel install.
