Hey all. I am looking to replace my stock from seats on my 79 FJ40 and was looking for some suggestions on replacements. I was thinking of racing style seats but I would like to get some other opinions. I would like to be able to get some more leg room if possible too. The 40 is a bit snug with a 6-3 270lb driver. Thanks in advance for the help. Any help on the seat and the brackets would be appreciated.

I know on the 40 section here they talk about alot of seat options out there. Not too sure what works the best but somewhere to check anyhow.

yeah I took a peak at it and there are some good ideas on that thread. I think the one that looked the best and easiest to make the swap were some seats from a 2000-2002 Civic. I am still weighing my options but I wanted to get you guys's opinions as well. Thanks.

There are alot of guys throughout the forum using volvo seats out of a 760-850 style volvo, i have ran a set of these myself on my 76 and they almost fit nicely on the factory seat rails. There was not much fabbing that took place to get them in and they were a nice comfortable seat, paid $75 bucks for the set here locally including heater switches

volvo seats

I just put in 2000 volvo x70 power, heated leather seats and the biggest problem was the passenger seat being a little high. But you will have so much more leg room on the drivers side. I can email pics to you
