Anybody out there have any recommendations for seat replacement candidates? Can't justify the expense of fixing the electric seats on mine - fore/aft does not work on either side - back adjusts but no fore/aft.

Well there a popular $40 fix for that problem.

or there’s a 10 + page thread of options

The top recommended donors seem to be the Land Rover Discovery and the Volvo XC90. WRX seats are relatively popular, and Celica seats seem like a good option.

If you want to go all out for comfort, the Stratos suspension seats are mint. Late model commodore and falcon seats are pretty common conversions.

Wrx Sti Seats
Comfy as heck.

Some people are quite happy with their Jetta Seat swap.

Here is the compiled seat swap thread.

I paid and install after market seats , After 4 years yanked them out fixed the gear on my sock ones and purchased a leather kit to re do my front seats from land cruiser heaven and seat extension for the drivers seat from Witts end. I now love the stock ones. The seats I purchased were Pro car Elite lumbar . They were nice but with the high points on the edge they wore out fast. The adjusters never really worked the foam padding died with in 3 years. IF i had Rock sliders the sides wings on the seat bottom would have lasted longer .But because I did not have sliders you sort of slide on the side getting in and out . For the price I paid for the procar seats I could have fixed mine. Plus i supported the vendors on this forum, Which is Always a plus in my book

Hi @samiam09 I am considering a seat swap vs a rebuild but your comments intrigued me. I'm a bigger guy at 6 feet 220...are you still happy with your seat repair and if you don't mind what size are you? Thanks in advance

6 ft 240 so not supper tall but the seat extensions make the ride better. if I was to do it over again i would go with the company with the seat heater and ac "aka" blower.I live in Ca for now and leather gets warm in the summer. Not really cold enough to require heaters but when I move it will be to a cooler climate. It seems like anywhere but Hawaii, New York and Ca is cheaper to live.

I have corbeau seats and sliders in mine. They are leather ones though. Not high bolsters but way more than stock seats. They were used when i got them, so prob 6-8 years old and no wear. Cloth with fail faster than these. I am about to buy some for my t100 as the seats were worn out and i put some race seats in with way too high bolsters. But i owned em. I would buy the reclining models, they have a few. Think the cheapest are 500-550 and sliders that are bolt in take 2 weeks from order to your door, $120 each.

I’m also hunting for seat replacements and there just happens to be a bunch of XC90 in tan available around me. I’ve tried searching it up but all I could find is that they don’t actually fit, was there a thread of anything like that where someone actually popped them in?

Thanks for the info. I ordered the extensions today
