Seat covers?

Debated buying replacement leather and was afraid my big a-- dog would poke holes in them. Tried some of the less expensive canvas looking and sent them back.
Sucked it up and bought the ones from Spector and can say they are really nice and durable. Had one heck of a time getting the head rest covers installed but finally did. I like the console lid cover. Everything fit well and should last a long time. We'll see.
They do a good job and I was warned they are hot as heck in the summer. But, that's what A/C is for.
If they get dirty you can take them off and wash them. A lot less than leather and you don't have to worry about them very much. If you have a big Lab like I do, their claws eat leather seats.

The WO are nice and the fit and finish is great, but the only issue is you get swamp ass with them.:meh:

at least one person does

I really like the Sandstorm stuff...canvas or cloth seems to be a good way to go. Or go full bore and get a set of Shane's replacement leather. Hmmm...good to have choices.

The reason why we would like covers is to protect our legs from the hot leather in summer.

Have had them less than a month - I got the front, rear, and fold-up seat covers.. I imagine over time the leather will get a "worn" look but with leather that generally looks good in my opinion. The canvas is super-thick and good quality. To give you an idea, on the rear of the seats there are a bunch of canvas pockets from the same material similar to the one holding the water bottle in the photo, and while we were driving my two-year old poured milk into one (!). Six hours later it was still there and the outside of the canvas wasn't even wet.

I think they did stop for a while but have restarted making them. They are a small outfit and each set is custom and hand-made, although they already have templates for 100-series. They just have to check things like whether you have manual (like mine) or electric seats etc. The guy to contact there who deals with the seat covers is Methuselah Moshi - methuselah@sandstormkenya.com
You can have all-canvas, canvas with leather piping, canvas with leather side panels (like mine), or all-leather.
There was a thread from a while back on some other forum about importing to the USA that I found while googling, but I can't find it now. I think the shipping was quite a lot due to the weight of the fabric, plus customs etc. But am sure Moshi can advise if you are interested. I'll try to post a pic of the rear seats tomorrow.

how much did they cost you??

For the front seats, rear seats, and fold-up seats with leather side panels the cost is around $800. It's a lot but I figured after a few years of having two toddlers on the beige velour seats and with the red dirt you find in Kenya, the interior would be wrecked. I saved a little on that by having the fold-up seats without leather, as having the leather adds a lot. If you only want canvas the price goes down quite a bit. Moshi can send you a spreadsheet with all the different costs and you can customise it as you like.

X2 on the SOR tuff ducks. Great fit and thy clean up very easy. I've had them in my 100 series for about 5 years. Hardly showing any wear.
