Seals on a Transfer case

How hard is it to replace the seals on the transfercase? I know i would be underneath the truck all day but is it something a newbie could do with a haynes manual?

I would say yes. I don't think it'll be a cinch, but you can do it.

FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL.

The hanes manual is just vauge enough to get the inexpierenced wrench in trouble. If you really intend on doing this, and plan on keeping the truck, and continuing to perform your own maintanence, I would recomend that you get the 2F engine manual, the emmisions manual, and the chassis and body manual.

If you are just talking about the ft and RR output seals then it is no big deal. If you are talking about the tranny to TC seal it is a bit more complicated. If it is a split case it does have a lot of parts and requires the OEM manual.
