sealing/caulking a window? (1 Viewer)

Hey,

I have a windshield that was installed improperly, a little rust under the corner and the gasket isn't super tight. It's not leaking yet, but I'm waiting. Unfortunately, I don't have the money or space to pull it, take care of the rust, have it reinstalled. it's winter and it's not in the cards financially.
I was wondering about placing a bead of something on the exterior, between the gasket and the roof (and the gasket and the glass, if applicable).
I would love to pull it, but I can't afford to pay someone to do the body work.

Suggestions?

Pull it, clean it, reinstall it with fresh polyurethane sealant

Sealing over it is a proverbial band aid.
Sealing in trapped grunge & grime is worse then a bandaid.
If water finds its way in through a half assed seal, you've trapped water and waterlogged grime

Agreed. The gasket is $50-ish. You can get two suction cups at an autoparts store on loan. You can use a shoestring (literally) to remove the gasket, if you're really on a budget.

Use this and be done with it:

Where do you recommend getting a gasket from? I see various part # in some treads but no common answer. I'll do the sunroof as well.

Should I get new drip edge moulding as well?

I believe the drip edge molding is NLA. looks better without it IMO

Windshield weatherstrip is 56121-60100

You have to replace the glass if you're replacing the sunroof seal; it comes installed. New sunroof glass part number is 63201-60024

New drip edge molding is only available from Japan and they won't ship it. You'll have to find used.
