Sealing (big and Small)

First and foremost I would like to appologize if this topic has been reworked here bunch of times, if not here it goes.

Project FJ40, but Im sure others are set up in a similar fashion.

1) What kind of seam sealer do you use to seal up the hood windshield area where the original was?

2) I have welds on the joints and would like to seal those as well (after rust bulleting them) Should I use the same sealant or get something else? What Im looking for is something to remain somewhat flexible as the body flexes... so something that doesnt dry too hard, but not caulk kinnda gummy on hot day.

Any input will be appreciated.

I've used Fusor seam sealer with good results.

Great, I assume I can use the same to do big and small areas?

It's identical to the factory original product, comes in a tube like caulk, how it's applied and the results depend on the person doing it! Make sure you get fresh product, you don't want something that's been sitting on the shelf a long time. One tube would easily do several vehicles, so it's not a big mover.

Yep, 3M is what I've used, and I also agree that end appearance truly depends on the skill/finesse of the user.

I just saw a nice sealant they have used to join two slates in our parking garage. Thing has been there for couple years now and is still rubbery and not cracked... too bad there is no way to find out what they used it.
