I don't want to be negative or argumentative but how can you separate the benefits of the Seafoam vs the ATF? It would be great if I could know Seafoam really works. Would you have gotten the same results if you'd used the ATF only?

Don't get me wrong, I'd like Seafoam to work. This is a non-troll question.
the seafoam worked wonders on the combustion side. it starts much easier, idles nicely and much less smoke.
i have no idea which worked on the oil side, maybe the ATF, maybe the the seafoam. i just wanted a good flush and this i will find out when i change the oil again.
cheers

you should see seafoam clean the carbon off the top of a two stroke piston, the stuff eats carbon, I dunno definitaly worth it to me.

iI have used seafoam once on a gasser that was rarely driven and have given two doses to the cruiser. On the gasser I put it in the tank and in the engine oil. It cleared a sticky lifter in about a block. In the cruiser I only put it in the fuel. I did notice mild improvement, but not as much as the gaser. I should mention that the cruiser at that time badly needed the injectors serviced and the valves adjusted. One thing I did note is that the fuel gauge in the cruiser started to work again after adding seafoam. This could be coincidence though.

just finished draining the ATF/Seafoam and the stuff was black from a 2 X 1 hour runs.
the van starts easily now, still blowing blue till warm then very clean after that. the power is up as well. before it could barely get out of it's own way but now it pulls strong.
next is to check the valve seals...
that it for this thread.
seafoam, seems to do it's job...
cheers
