I would really like to make Dave's birthday weekend but I just can't bring myself to drive that far; the rig just isn't set up for long distances any more:frown:

I would like to head out to Corrizo Gorge and possibly Valley of the Moon on the other side of the highway. My focus will be on camping and relaxing as opposed to all day wheelin'. I have Friday off so I'd like to head out in the morning and find my way to a camping site relatively early.

Saturday, I'll break camp and head out to meet a few from adventure4x4.net, spend the night somewhere in AB and maybe do some wheelin' with them on Sunday.

If anyone is interested in meeting me for any portion of the weekend, let me know. Here's a pic of a great camp site in the Corrizo Gorge area that I'd like to find my way back to:

Long story short, we have no clue where we are headed now. EL CAP is booked solid. :(

big bear......big bear......;)

Really I have a hidden agenda to get to see your rig in person. Shoulda never read your ROTW...so much to work towards haha:flipoff2:

To quote Robert Duvall "I love the smell of bearing grease in the morning" (or something like that)

Isn't there a meet and great this weekend?

Yeah, but it's Saturday only. I'm trying to get out all weekend with a minimum of driving:)

I'm leaving for AB this afternoon with another family and will be camping in the Fish Creek area. On Friday we are heading over to the mud caves and then do some exploring in the Carrizo badlands area.

What CB channel will you be on? Maybe we'll run into each other.

Steve,

where do you plan to be for the first half of saturday?

Carrizo Gorge seems fun, but I have a family commitment at 3:00.

I may take off Friday morning for AB, and run some trails..(still undecided). The plan is to camp out Friday night somewhere...Sheepcanyon if it is not full...And wheel a bit on Saturday...then go home for some family obligations.

What CB channel will you be running?

I'm leaving in a few minutes, if anyone is in my area I will be using CB channel 10.

I originally planned to be in this area until I got my stuff packed up and headed into AB. However, the social side of me is thinking maybe I'd be better off heading into AB tomorrow. Since it would be too much driving to go out to AB and then all the way back into SD for the picnic, I'd be down with meeting you in AB and doing just about any run you'd like on Sat. morning.

If you want to meet up somewhere in AB (not too early) and run some trails, I'd be down with that. I'd like to head up into Sheeps early though to get a spot for the rest of the Adv4x4 crowd. I really like the first spot on the left and I'm willing to get there early in hopes of nabbing it:D

We usually start out on 8. Dan is running on 10 but we won't be close enough for it to matter unless we head out into the fish creek area.

If the traffic isn't out of control, as it has been due to the flowers, I wouldn't be opposed to heading up into Sheeps first thing, setting up a tent to lock in our spot and then going back down and meeting Dan in fish creek, running sandstone or just screwing off in truckhaven.

Not sure if it would be practical to head all the way to borrego for a half a day. We'll see.

I'll PM my # in the morning. Give me a call Sat morning if you have cell reception.
