My wife and I purchased a 2006 GX470 yesterday. It came with one original (master) key. The seller had another key that was bought from ebay to still be programmed. I tried following the directions but somehow messed up the master key. I go them both to start and lock/unlock with the FOB but the immobilizer light blinks when either key is in the ignition (the light with a red car and key inside).

Basically, what I think I screwed up was trying to setup the new FOB to lock and unlock before programming it to the transponder. Then when I put the master key in, I got the light and haven't been able to get it programmed correctly.

Is my only option to go to a dealer with the original master key and get them to reprogram it?

Thanks for any help.

Side note, we love it already! The drive home was awesome, it drives extremely smooth. We got 19mpg on the way through some hilly highways.

Man, I did the same thing.... how did you resolve this?

Popalock has the machine and programmer to cut and program the transponder. At least here in Baton Rouge. But after cutting the key the seller gave me and programming the locks he couldn't get the transponder to work. Wrong key! He didn't charge me but said to order a new key and call him directly and he'd come out and cut and program the new one. The charge is $135 for his work. Don't know if this will help you because my master key still works.

I don’t have a problem with the keys working in the door and ignition, just no remote function
