A while back there was some conversation about old school tube radios. I can’t remember but someone had the skills to rejuvenate and repair these things, but was currently busy.

I am reaching out to that person!

I have my dad’s old set up and am interested in getting it up and running. He actually put it together back in t he day.

Was it me?

I built that.
Perhaps you could tell I built it.
What you probably cannot tell, is that it's a clone of the circuit for an HH Scott phonostage. I copied it directly from the HH Scott official schematic archived at Audiokarma, then worked out the secret pec values in order to get the riaa equalization right.
Pretty sweet eh?

I had reached out to the gentleman, but he was too busy at the time to take on another project. He told me to rwachnout later.
Ring any bells?

Just checked my emails and yes sir you are the guy.
Does this seem like a project that you would take on if I sent it to you?

I think it would be a good retro look. Space is tough though!
I've got a dynamotor stashed for this very purpose. 24v in, 500v out at half an amp direct current.
That's plenty of power to kill you flat dead if you let it through your heart.
It will run the plates of a set of bendix red bank output tubes, should be good for 30-40 watts per channel.
Now when the EMP takes out everyone's sniper, pertronix, MSD, and their cd players, I'll still be cruising in style with my points ignition, externally regulated charging system and a stereo run entirely on vacuum tubes.
What to play?

Now we need to worry about when the EMP takes out the electric to the well pump, better be ready.

Never heard that one before. I would sure like to have a good spring on the property. We have some wet weather creeks, but they dry up in the Summer. I'm guessing you have to filter it beforehand.
We would.
Ditch water, is deeded into the title here.
We have what's called a "water right" and we get a 1" stream from a nearby pond, delivered via an abs pipe, all day every day...
We need to fix that system up a bit, but it is present.
