And in much less of a nail-biting vein I have some Frame porn for your:

I love that the video ends on the VIN/chassis number. Some day when I am dead and gone and if neither of my sons want the truck it will go to someone else to take care of and they will be able to see how we went about bringing this truck back and they will be able to be certain it is the same truck.

Behold!!!

Schrodinger's engine!

I am back in Dubai and despite struggling with a bad case of jet lag, went and had a closer look at things.

Apparently the engine already has been bored 50 over both cylinders and crank. But it looks pretty good. The mechanic advises going to 100 on both. I'm pondering to just say polish. As regards to the pistons themselves they are not OEM and I will replace them. I am working to find 1HD pistons because I intend to do a mild turbo on this 1HZ.

The blasted and painted frame looks really good!

So we opened the transmission today. Rather evil liquids emerged.

But the gear train itself does not look too bad.

This is, of course, the R151F light duty transmission. There does seem to be some orange rusty liquid but I don't see any damage. I'm inclined to change the bearings and seals, check the condition of the synchros, and close it up again. We will make a decision tomorrow.

john has your truck got difflocks...cheers
Consistent with Shrodinger's very essence, the answer is both yes and no. The original axels I don't think were. The replacement axels I am not sure about.

I am way behind on Schrodinger, but to whet your appetite here is a video of the body getting blasted:

Work is proceeding in earnest again after some necessary delays. We are replacing the front and rear axels from a JDM 105 and they look really promising.
