Does anyone have a schematic for the wiring harness? There is nothing showing wire routing in the FSM. The black wire (may have a yellow tracer) that feeds the ignition switch and most of the dash accessories, I attached an accessory load to this wire that drew too much current and must have blown out a fusable link somewhere. However, I checked the voltage past the 3 fusable links comming off the battery and I had full voltage going back to the cab on all of them. Is there another fusable link that I don't see? The problem would have to be between where the ignition switch gets power and the battery (no power is getting to the switch any longer).

These work - door locks, dome light, headlights but the dash is pretty much dead now, along with everything that the ignition switch powers, of course.

THANKS!

I found what I was looking for but not the exact location of it. It appears to be a fusable link "upstream" from the links next to the battery.

Question, can one just use a normal fuse instead of a "fusable link". How about a circuit breaker? What is the purpose of the "link" and it not being something easier to manage.

I don't know about 62s and the 60 schematic only shows 3 fusible links. AFAIK, all of these are near the battery. You can get fooled by looking at the voltage on a "open circuit" wire that has no load. Try measuring the voltage with the devices that the circuit feeds switched on, like the ignition, etc that are not working and measure the voltage again. If you have a faulty connection at one of the links (if it was burned out, it would be obvious) the voltage will drop to near zero when the switch is on and rise to 12V with the circuit open.

You are right, it is a fusable link. With the darkness of last night when this happened, combined with the aw-s**t sinking of my stomach, I missed 1 of the wires when testing last night. Since there are 3 links all in one bundle and no telling how much Toyota would charge for the part, I am just going to install a 50A circuit breaker for $5 instead of the fusable link.

Lets drum up some additional beta regarding this...

Especially since I've got a dead dragon waiting for me.

I've got the same symptoms about 5 months ago before I began my swap. Tossed in a new alternator with a bad regulator. Drove about 1 mile when I heard a "pop", and saw the amp gauge pegged.

High beams do work
Low beams do not work
Tail lights/brake lights do not work
Heater fan does not work
Interior lights do not work
Dash lights do not work
Turn signals do not work
Check engine light does work as does the 4wd light
Windows do work

Does this sound like a blown fusible link or does it sound more like the combination switch? Gad I officially hate electrical, and trust me: its not a bad ground (I intentionally doubled up).
