I go to serious auto accidents all the time. Based on what I’ve seen I will never modify a factory airbag system intended to protect a position someone will be seated in. What they do is nothing short of incredible when you see it in person. Even if the side curtains remain unchanged, the seat bolsters and in some cases door panel airbags are all designed to work together as a calibrated system to provide full coverage for different types of impacts.
But that’s just me.

You need to wire in a resistor to turn the side airbag light off.
