Scenic Run by 4 Peaks 12/16

I'm considering a run Sunday to the four peaks area on Edwards Park Trail. Never been there, but it looks scenic and moderate (Massey rates it a 6 of 10 w/ a 7 detour to El Oso and Jolene mines.) Any interest in going? Depart Ba'ja by 09:00 and pick up far easters at bush highway (that's you yldbill ).

Anybody run this before and have feedback on the trail?

I've been on part of the trail in my old Mazda MPV 4WD. It was muddy and slick and off camber with a huge drop toward Roosevelt Lake. I was inexperienced and freaked....but we made it. Today...no bothers.

the bumper is for clearance and rock resistance only...I hope to avoid "road lice" and any thing else I might have to scrub off..;p

Howdy! If the cycles and quads are smart, they will be watching out for us 4x4s. We are considerably bigger, and we have a much higher survival factor than they do. I know from experience!! John

I do with the QUADS and BIKES would look out for US.

Unfortunately, a lot of them (neither machine nor rider) are not... the concept of how the contest between 1 3/4" DOM tubing mounted on 3 tons of moving iron vs. a carbon fiber helmet or human body parts would end appears to be lost on many...

Four Peaks road has a few blind corners. Last time I was up there, here's this guy on a quad coming around one of these blind corners at full powerslide, no protective equipment, girlfriend in the back holding on for dear life... luckily I was at my usual slowpoke speed, but it was too close for my taste...

Based on maybes and a request to postpone till next Saturday, I'm gonna postpone till next Saturday, 12/16/06. The f#$&'n painters decided it was "too windy" to paint my house today (warranty repaint) and need access tomorrow - So, postponed until next Saturday. I will bring the Massey book friday night to the Sonic meet so anyone interested can check out where we're going.

No problem. I went out with my kids anyway, got my Bandi mount and Firestik installed and loaded synthetic winch line on my winch. Now if the bumper would just arrive I could install the winch and bumper.

It looks like the weather was not kind to your most fastidious painters today, either. It was quite windy at my house today. When I was painting my house last spring there was one day that I had to stop because it was so windy that none of the paint was getting from the sprayer to the house.

I must recant.
Job I was supposed to do for a friend today had to be pushed back to next weekend.
On a lighter note, the 60 finally runs. Now I just gotta order the smog parts and get her registered.
I'll be out of town the 30th, but should be raring to go mid - late Jan.
I will most likely be at Sonic this Fri.

Which bumper did you order?

Demello bumper has been ordered. It should be here just before Christmas. I can't wait. Then I can attack the trails without worrying about my bumper. Actually, I already have some scratches on the stock bumper so its resale value is already diminished. So, I should go out and trash it now before I get the new one.
