Aloha Gang,
I wanted to share a product I purchased from Spiker Engineering. I was looking for a better mounting option for my ScanGauge 3 (definitely recommend) vs another suction mount. I came across Spiker's option and had sent them an email to see if it would fit. I got the mount today and installed with zero issue. really clean and tons of ways to angle for better visibility.

Also cool gauges in X gauge's for the scangauge 3 was that it shows exact fuel level (still playing with that).

That scan gauge is larger than it thought it would be. Pretty sweet though.

This might also be another good option for mounting a phone without the use of vent mounts, suction cups, or tape.

I totally agree, various options or things can be done with this mount. Magnet is super strong as well.

It is really big, but I feel that all the bennies are worth it. I have Scangauges in all my other cars. I figure if its too much I can swap an older one in.

I'd you can take more pics in daylight from multiple angles so we can get a better feel for the install, that would be greatly appreciated.

Hi can you share how you ran the scanguage cable? Looks Ike it is coming out of the dash somehow

I popped the side cover off and pulled back the door molding and then ran it under the dash. Pretty easy and nicely tucked away.

I have emailed Spiker to see if they can manufacture these for RHD vehicles, as there are very limited options in the land "Downunda" to mount the ScanGauge 3...I'm hoping Spiker see this also. Cheers

Leon at SpikerEngineering got me a mount out for my LC200 Sahara in less than a week (to Australia)

Good quality kit, certainly brings the scangauge to a much more usable distance..

I would put it under the radio somwhat where the ashtray sits.
Out of view but if you want you can always see it

That looks like a slick setup for sure. My hesitation is the unknown how that’d end up with curtain (a pillar) airbag deployment? Would it simply move forward, or would it meet your head prior to the airbag?

That's a valid question, and is something that I considered as well. But the a-pillar air bag deploys along the side window, not from the a-pillar towards your face. So it deploys from the lower portion of the a-pillar , and anything higher than the air bag (the grab handle, or the gauge mount) are not in the way of the air bag. This video discusses it to some extent -

Gotcha. Thanks for the link. His banging on about “the grab handle hitting you in the face - that’s not how it works!” Got a bit annoying. My hesitation is the accessory added (not crash tested) to the grab handle mounting point becoming a projectile during a crash with the rapid expansion of gases into an enclosed space (air bag) potentially becoming a projectile. The trim as configured went through that stuff already. But all the kit we add hasn’t. Something worth considering at least.

Can't disagree with your point, which of course applies equally well to any suspension modification you would make to your truck. Keep in mind that the SG3 is designed to be mounted to the windshield (using a suction cup), and I doubt the Scan Gauge folks did much crash/projectile testing on that setup. Frankly, I'd be more worried about an aftermarket suspension component failing and leading to an accident than I would about an air bag hitting the gauge that is not in its way. But obviously it's up to the customer to weight the possible risks of aftermarket components :).

I've been running this mount for about 6 months and I love it. I have one screen setup for on-road and one for off-road. I'm not too worried about it smashing me in the mug in an accident but to each their own.
